Picking up the abject qualities of the subject- flexible, yellowish, sticky, translucent... there is the possibility of taking full casts of the clay sculptures, which means that I could continue to work in clay but produce work that actually isn't clay.

leah kaplan
Leah Kaplan is a ceramicist working in porcelain. Maybe i could coild some kind of throat - like tubes out of porcelain, translucent.
coil building with wax
Coil building some kind of tube with the soft parafin wax. the problem and the beauty of the yellow wax is that it is so soft- it makes it wonderful to work with, soft and pliable and taxtile in the same way that clay is, but it doesn't keep its form well, it collapses under the fluctuation of temperature and won't hold its shape. I dream of some kind of long coiled wax tube, undulating over and across the hard clay sculpture, maybe I could find a way to preserve the wax forms.
Skin Textures
Making skin textures in the surface of the clay, the close up, criss cross imprint with star like pores. maybe could also puncture or drill tiny holes. The sphincters are carved in to the faces of the torsos. like the fibres of the muscle but in negative.
Torsos/sphincters
Coil building torso like forms, with distinct apertures, in honour of the 60 plus sphincters in the body. want to change the texture of the surface.
leaves and seeds
Fallen leaves and seed pods, human seeds, the reproductive organs. Maybe could be displayed in some kind of tree like formation, seeds at the bottom, leaves somehow perpetually falling. But also don't want to be too obvious
