COVID CHOIRS

I have felt completely paralysed by the COVID situation and unable to make work or even really think about it. I hosted a 'Quarantine Choir' workshop on Microsoft teams on Monday, which has the potential to become interesting. I started by teaching some traditional songs, but it soon devolved into a meaningless, instinctual improvisation, which I had envisioned as being a possibility. I recorded it on my phone and plan to play it back into the next session, so that it can be a layering of past and current selves. It lines up with the workshops I had been hosting with Simon and Maddie, exploring the loss of meaning, and moving beyond words into soundscapes full of feeling and curiosity but empty of narrative.
